The village of Aik Berik, located in the Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia, is a gateway to a natural paradise within the Rinjani Geopark area, boasting several beautiful waterfalls.
The two primary and most accessible waterfalls in Aik Berik are:
Benang Stokel, A beautiful twin (or three-tiered) waterfall that drops about 20 meters, its name meaning “bundle of thread” in the Sasak language. The walk to this waterfall from the entrance is relatively easy, taking only about 10-15 minutes, making it highly accessible.
Benang Kelambu, Often considered the highlight, this unique waterfall resembles a curtain or mosquito net (“kelambu”) as the water flows gently down a wide, lush, fern-covered rock face. The water here comes directly from a natural ground source and is incredibly clear and fresh. It requires a slightly longer (15-40 minute) or steeper walk (around 170 steps) from the Benang Stokel area, or a short motorbike taxi ride.
